Three years after getting married Jon and I finally got to go on our honeymoon in beautiful Kona! From getting our first look at the island on the plane as it landed and then driving up the hill to the house we knew we were in for a treat.
We piggybacked off what others had done before us, driving out to Hilo, visiting the Volcanic National Park, and finding sea turtles, but what I wanted to do most was just hang out by the pool with that gorgeous view, read a book, and have the occasional visit from dog Michael.
A few recommendations for dining out would be the Shark Shack for a fun tiki drink, Kai Eats and Drinks for some food, mai tais, and a really beautiful view of the ocean, and over in Hilo the Poke Market for the freshest poke bowl I have ever had.
Every night we made sure to make it back to the house before sunset, and even on the rainiest day it didn’t disappoint. Counting down the days till we get to go back!
